To Love or Not to Love?

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

By Rick Valens Have you ever fallen in love with two different persons at the same time? Falling in love with two different persons whom both have the same feeling for you too? Well, there is actually nothing wrong with that. In fact I would say that it is something very normal, sometimes even falling for more than two persons for some. We are afterall human beings, creatures of great emotions. It is just natural for one to develop a liking for the opposite sex, especially when the both are getting along very well. Sometimes, it is just so hard for us to control our feeling and nevertheless, it has always been human nature to be greedy. It is always good to be able to have the best of both worlds isnt it? But well, things are usually just not possible. At the end of the day, you just have to make your choice, to decide for yourself, your one and only love whom that person to be. To love or not to love, it is your choice. Think of it this way. In our path of life, we are always faced with choices. Choices that we have to make decisions over; decisions that will affect our life. At circumstances, even having to make immediate decision on the spot, decisions concerning of life and death. Sometimes we made the right decision and sometimes the wrong. But no matter what our decisions might have brought so far; we accepted them, didnt we? That is life. There is not way the world is going to stop moving just for you. To turn left or to turn right, to move forward or to turn back, you just have to make up your mind. I should believe that you will not choose to be stuck at the cross junction for your whole life? Well, a game of chances and uncertainties life has nevertheless always been. If you never play you can never win. You have just got to make your choice, to decide where to place your bet. You can of course choose to give up, not to risk your bet. You always have your choice. Life is just so full of choices, remember? But well, will you later regret giving up that chance when you have it? The same goes for love. Between the both, you just got to decide whom you really like more. Well, having choices is always better than not having any at all, right? I should also believe that you are not going to give up that chance of even placing your bet? I know it is going to be hard but do just give yourself sometime. Follow where your heart goes. Between the both, there is definitely one whom you will actually like more. Ok, just picture this scenario; there are this two musical concert, both a once in a lifetime concert. Missing it, you will never get the chance to see it again. You have been dying to catch the shows all these while. However for such a coincidence, they are been held at the same timing on the same day. Again, I suppose you will not just give up the chance of catching both shows altogether? Between the two, you will definitely choose one right? Finally, to get to fully enjoy the show, which you had decided upon, you just got to forget about that disappointment from missing the other show. But well, more often than not, once you found yourself in the musical concert, chances are you will be totally captured by that spectacular ambience, enjoying yourself so much, totally forgotten about any disappointment that you earlier had. Now where we are discussing about love, it is just the same. Many at times, we just cant bear to give up on what we already have, struggling so hard within ourselves. In the end, we might jollywell end up with nothing at all. In life, we gain some we lose some. Its no use holding on so hard to something, which you know will not come out with anything. When you have to give up, you have to. When you have to choose, you just have to. Just like choosing between the two musical concerts, follow where your heart goes. Once you made up your mind, everything will just seem so much clearer. Slowly, your path of love will reveal its way for you. Will it lead to happiness for you? Well again, we wouldnt know. But if we never try we will never know. At least, I should believe that you will be much happier than to be still stuck at the cross junction, lost for direction? Remember, the world is not going to stop turning just for you. So is with love. The two persons will not just keep waiting for you. Wishy-washy? You might just end up with nothing at all. Happiness wont come passing by twice, cherish it when you have it. 2005 www.loveletterbox.com Rick ValensStaff Writer for http://www.loveletterbox.com, Love Relationship Discussion Forum Currently also freelance writer for http://www.ecemetery.org, Monument of Eternal Memory NOTE: You’re free to republish this article on your website, in your newsletter, in your e-book or in other publications provided that the article is reproduced in its entirety, including the author information and all live website link as above. Using Computer Software to Streamline Your Genealogy Research

Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Paul Duxbury Computer software can make your family tree research a breeze, relatively speaking pun intended, of course. Using family tree software allows the creation of online data bases to sort records; the storage of digital photos with other documents, scanning of old records, easy sharing with other researchers, and a world of information at your fingertips through the Internet. When looking for appropriate genealogy software, look for easy to use features that seem intuitive. Many programs will allow matching of information from various online data bases. Some have features that check various name combinations that are similar and rate connections according to probability. These features are quite handy. It is also helpful if the program allows you to input data from other genealogy programs or data bases and spreadsheets like Microsoft Access and Excel. The software you choose should be well organized and easy to read, displaying needed information on the screen in an easy to follow format. Many allow you to click on name tabs of a child or a parent and view the personal data, which can include the name of spouse, place and date of birth, marriage, death and of burial. Good software will also allow you to tie in other lineage information, such as adoption records, step children, biographies, descendant charts, and other information you will find helpful. Some deluxe software programs go a step further and offer extra features. These can include a county verifier for counties in the US, allowing the user to view all of the counties in a state with their founding dates to hunt for discrepancies. All genealogists who have tried to find a location in a county that has been dissolved or reorganized can appreciate this feature. Another nice added feature in some deluxe software is the ability to search for a location by various means: county, state, country, town, city or province. Some software even has a potential problems report, this will highlight dates the genealogist should double check. Another nice feature is the reformatting of inconsistently formatted data bases to make sure that records match. And another deluxe feature is web site creation. Some programs will allow the user to make their own genealogy web sites without knowing HTML or other computer code. By creating web sites a user is able to share work easily with other genealogists without having to retype information, make photo copies or spend a bundle on postage. And think of the time that is saved. Before personal computers became popular genealogists had to spend many hours in libraries and research centers. The tool of choice was the micro film reader. Photo copy machines received a workout. Handwritten notes were extensive, and subject to misinterpretation. Todays computers, with good software and the internet provide a world of opportunity for the genealogist that would have seemed like magic only thirty years ago. Additionally the need to visit libraries in many cases is now no longer necessary. While there are times when information is still only available on microfilm, many libraries have converted their microfilm to digital format and have made it available online, allowing a person to do research from the comfort of their own home. Imagine doing your genealogy research in your pyjamas, at 4 a.m. if that is the time you prefer. Good genealogy software makes it possible. When looking at software, remember that most of the best companies have enough faith in their programs to offer a 30 day free trial period. You can try the software out, use it for a month and make sure that it truly fits your needs and desires. Then if you choose to buy, paying online with a credit card allows you to keep using the software permanently without having to reinstall. This is another improvement over the past, and certainly an improvement no one complains about. Whether you use Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT or XP, there are many good programs on the market for genealogists. And it doesnt matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or an expert. All researchers can benefit from good genealogy software, so give it a try and youll certainly be glad you did. Children and Seat Belts

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

By Kim Prissel Would you push your child out in front of an oncoming car? No? Then why would you allow your child to ride in your car without their seatbelt on? Either way, the impact could be deadly. If your reasoning is you are only going to the store, or just dropping them off at school, think again. Most accidents happen within 25 miles of home. A collision at thirty miles per hour is equal to jumping off a three-story building. Over 600 unrestrained children under the age of 5 are killed every year and 80,000 are injured as passengers in car wrecks. Seat belts could have prevented over 50% of these injuries and fatalities. Research shows that when adults buckle up, 87% of children buckle up too. Parents and children are spending more time in vehicles than in the past, so why not buckle up and be safe? Buckle up, set a good example, and ensure your children are restrained. Children under the age of 5 should be in child restraint seats and children under the age of 13 should always ride in the back seat. From birth to 20 lbs, babies should be in rear-facing car seats, which are reclined 45 degrees. From 1 to 4 years, children should be in forward facing cars seats. Until children are 8 or 57 tall, they should be in boosters with lap and shoulder belts. Be sure your car seats are also installed properly. If you are unsure, check with your local police department or with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a local inspection station. There is no valid excuse not to use your seat belts. Buckle up, buckle your children up and be safe. Kim Prissel is an author on http://www.Writing.Com/ which is a site for Creative Writers. New Treatment Program Digs Out Chronic Tension Headaches

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Doug Fogel Janet Kinne was skeptical. Dig out her chronic tension headaches? But she was desperate. The 57-year-old St. Petersburg, Florida, resident’s headaches were so bad, on some days she could hardly walk. “I’m a real estate agent and need to be ready for clients on a moment’s notice,” she said. “The headaches and terrible neck pain were literally crippling me.” She went to her doctor, who gave her a prescription for muscle relaxants that disoriented her. “I couldn’t drive,” she said. “This was no way to live.” She decided to do an Internet search on chronic tension headaches and discovered tensionheadaches.com. “I immediately read the information there and recognized my symptoms,” she said, which lead her to try a holistic treatment program offered on the site, How to Get Permanent Relief From Chronic Tension Headaches. Program author Paul Bacho, a certified athletic trainer in Cleveland, Ohio, explained that tight and spasmed neck, shoulder and upper back muscles often cause chronic tension headaches. “They restrict blood flow to the back of the head and irritate nerve endings there,” said Bacho, 51. “It’s like stepping on a turned-on garden hose.” His program involves a soft-tissue manipulation technique that calls for “digging” into the neck, shoulders and upper back vigorously. “If you want to get rid of chronic tension headaches, you’ve got to get rid of the tightness and muscle spasms,” he said. “The problem is that the spasms are all scarred down because they are constantly tearing.” That’s where his digging technique comes in. “It breaks down that scar tissue,” he said. “That allows the muscles to relax, which makes the headaches go away.” Kinne is relaxing a lot more since utilizing Bacho’s program. “I had been plagued for months with this pain and being pain-free is so liberating,” she said. “I feel like a new person.” For more information, visit http://www.tensionheadaches.com or call 707-857-1898. Why Do We Exercise?

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

By Tracie Johanson In this article we’re going to focus on REASONS TO EXERCISE. Even though most of us know that regular exercise is “good for us”, we may not be able to give the specific reasons WHY exercise is good for us. First and foremost, before we start the list, let’s just admit right up front that the main reason we exercise is to look better. Hey, there’s no shame in that! Perhaps we want to look better for our spouse, or maybe we want to get into shape because we’re looking for a spouse! Whatever the reason, our desire to look good is a major motivator. Many of us want to look better…..for ourselves! When we engage in regular resistance and aerobic exercise, it changes our appearance for the better. Less fat, toned muscle, healthier skin, a bigger smile, and more “pep in our step” are all great reasons to exercise. In addition to just looking better there are some real physical benefits to regular exercise!! So for those of us who are working out to just look great, consider these reasons to exercise a bonus: * 1. Strengthens muscles * 2. Strengthens bone * 3. Strengthens ligaments * 4. Strengthens tendons * 5. Strengthens immune system * 6. Improves muscle tone * 7. Improves endurance * 8. Improves strength * 9. Improves self esteem * 10. Improves confidence * 11. Improves balance * 12. Improves physical appearance * 13. Improves physical performance * 14. Improves glucose tolerance * 15. Improves circulation * 16. Improves memory * 17. Lower risk of heart disease * 18. Lower risk of diabetes * 19. Lower risk of cancer * 20. Lower blood pressure * 21. Lower cholesterol * 22. Lower risk of stroke * 23. Lower risk of osteoporosis * 24. Lower risk of osteoarthritis * 25. Lower requirements for medication * 26. Lower risk of injury * 27. Lower bodyfat * 28. Helps with sleep disorders * 29. Reduces post-operative complications * 30. Reduces frequency of illness * 31. Prevent Alzheimer’s disease * 32. Prevents muscle loss * 33. Increases metabolism * 34. Eases symptoms of menopause * 35. Healthier pregnancy * 36. Fewer problems with childbirth * 37. Reduces ovulation problems Moderate weight loss - of fat, not muscle - and a healthy and active lifestyle (NOT dieting) have been found to lower health risks and medical problems in 90 percent of overweight patients. In addition to the exercise benefits listed above, fit people are eight times less likely to die from cancer than the unfit, and 53 percent less likely to die from other diseases. Fit people are also eight times less likely to die from heart disease. So the next time we’re tempted to just sit back and watch television instead of exercising, let’s remember that there are a lot of reasons to drop the remote and get moving! * Copyright 2005 Pick Up The Pace. Cosmetology; Education For Your Career

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By Amanda Speed A career in cosmetology has not only become more culturally relevant in recent years, but has also become more financially lucrative. In order to achieve employment at an upscale salon with higher-paying clients, licensing from an accredited cosmetology school is necessary. There are many jobs available for such accredited cosmetologists, but having a specialized education in the field of cosmetology is of the utmost importance. A beauty or cosmetology school can provide a student with an education in the current trends and techniques necessary for a successful career as a cosmetologist. The Department of Labors Bureau of Statistics indicates that a career in cosmetology offers flexible hours and opportunities for self-employment, with approximately 48% of cosmetologists and beauty workers being self-employed. The Department of Labor also predicts that job opportunities for cosmetologists are generally very promising, but that there may be competition for more upscale salons. Training from any accredited cosmetology school will give an upper hand to anyone seeking a career in cosmetology. For a future cosmetologist, this kind of education will provide job security as well as opportunities for job growth. Cosmetologists who receive training from a cosmetology school in specialized skills such as manicures, pedicures and skin care will find an increased job market for their relevant and trendy specialties. Cosmetologists find that their salary varies based on the salon in which they work. Receiving training from any accredited cosmetology school will increase the potential earnings for any cosmetologist. In addition, specialized training will increase the possibility of bonuses, commission and flexibility of hours. For the competitive world of upscale cosmetology, training received in these specialized areas will give a cosmetologist an upper hand in achieving a successful career. Cosmetologists need to learn the skills and initiative necessary to attract new clients and keep the clients they already have. A dedication to the profession is also ingrained during a students time at cosmetology school, which will enable them to grow in their career over a period of time. A significant part of the job of a cosmetologist involves working with clients. This is a skill that is taught best in the setting of an accredited cosmetology school. Because cosmetology is such a fast-paced industry, it is important for prospective students to choose an up-to-date school where they will learn the most current industry techniques and styles. Being trendy and modern is especially important in the industry of cosmetology. Because such a high emphasis is placed on beauty, a cosmetologist should choose a school that teaches necessary techniques. An online search can provide a potential cosmetologist with many available schools that provide an up to date education in the field of cosmetology. One valuable resource in the search for such a modern and qualified cosmetology school can be found at www.cosmetology-training-directory.com. At cosmetology-training-directory.com, one can find information about various accredited schools that will provide the training needed for a career in any upscale salon. This website, www.cosmetology-training-directory.com, is a valuable tool for any future cosmetologist to use in finding information about schools that will provide an education in beauty and cosmetology fields. This education will help a cosmetologist not only achieve the accreditation necessary for a job in the beauty industry, but will also provide the training in the most trendy and modern styles that a cosmetologist needs for a successful career. How to Transfer the Client to Become a Hot Lead-6 Golden Rules

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

By Iulia Pandaru Business exhibitions are unique occasions, special opportunities to interact with potential clients and to become aware of their real necessities. They reflect all that happens on the real market, gathered at one business event. On one side, there are the companies/suppliers that offer various products and services, each one wanting to overcome the competition, and on the other side, the client, of course, who sees all the options and suppliers trying to convince him to choose them. All companies that participate in a business exhibition wish to gather most clients (if not all of them) around their stand. These events are indeed the ideal way to put your services and products in direct contact with potential clients and to receive accurate and authentic feedback.Clients can see and test your offer, can compare it with that of others and can decide whether to buy your product or not. And they will buy your product if you have a good communication with them. Promoting your business at exhibits is like fishing in a tank: the environment is perfect, since only interested clients actually attend it. Making a difference, becoming more appealing than the competition, is almost a form of art. Just participating is not the key to gathering clients. Today, serious companies try more aggressive approaches when it comes to hunting the target clients, while they are standing next to your boot. Companies try many methods in order to turn just another client into a hot lead. One of these efficient tricks is hidden in your hostesses and sales persons: an entire team trained to catch the customers attention, in the most professional manner. The specialists of Mentor Pro Market, a marketing company who specializes in providing the dream team for your event, well trained promoters and hostesses, shared with us a few tips and tricks that make the difference: 1. Display is not all Most companies expect the display to instantly sell their products and services. However, the truth is that having the most beautiful boot does not necessarily ensure the best results. Many companies invest 20,000 to 50,000 US Dollars in the design of the boot and forget to invest in the team that must create a sparkle in order for the boot to be noticeable. 2. Create motivation Because it is a special event that requires special performance, it is recommended to create special bonuses.Firstly, clear up the goals: to yourself, to your team and to each one of the members.Secondly, create special bonuses both individual or team bonuses and you will see what effect they have upon the motivation of all the staff. 3. Training your team It is crucial to have personnel ready and trained when it comes to making hot leads. Your daily sales team might not know how to handle the different environment that they face in the event.Create special training methods, including simulation, before the event and provide short and focused feedbacks during the quiet breaks. 4. Creating a human face for your brand Hostesses are the members of the promotion team assigned to be the services and products welcoming image, the human version of your brand, trained to welcome and attend the clients. As we all know, it is all about the first impression, so when we choose your image all factors count: hair color, age, gender, outfit in order to create a presence that brightens the area, giving a catchy look to the service and the product. Three Common Deadly Mistakes Made in Interviews

Monday, November 19th, 2007

By Carole Martin Since no two interviews are alike, it is difficult to beprepared for what lies ahead, but you can focus on yourpresentation skills, which may be even more important than whatyou have to say. Three areas of performance, which should beconsidered dangerous and deadly, are worth spending some timethinking about before your next interview. 1. Poor non-verbal communication image It’s about demonstrating confidence. Stand straight, and make good eye contact. (Note the color ofthe interviewer’s eyes.) Connect with a good, firm handshake. (There’s nothing like alimp response in a handshake.) Sit erect and lean forward in the chair, appearing interestedand attentive. (Slumping denotes a lazy attitude.) That first impression can be a great beginning, or a quickending to your interview. 2. Poor verbal communication skills Your interviewer is giving you information, either directly orindirectly. Good communication skills include listening and letting theperson know you heard what they said. Observe your interviewer’s style and pace and match that style, adjusting your style and pace to match. Use appropriate language. (Beware of using slang words orreferences to age, race, religion, politics, or sexualpreferences these topics could get the door slammed veryquickly.) Telling the interviewer more than they need to know could be afatal mistake. (Too much information particularly personalinformation - could get into some areas that are best notdiscussed in an interview.) 3. Not asking questions It is extremely important to ask questions. When asked, “Do you have any questions?” if you answer “No,” itis the WRONG answer! Asking questions gives you the opportunity to show yourinterest. (The best questions come from listening to what issaid and asked during the interview. Ask for additionalinformation.) Asking questions gives you the opportunity to find out if thisis the right place for you. (Your chance to find out what goeson in the company.) The job market is very competitive and the competition isfierce. Give yourself every advantage by preparing andpracticing before the interview. Be aware of your verbal andnon-verbal performance and the messages you are sending. Itcould make the difference between a job offer or not. ====== Carole Martin is the original interview coach forMonster.com and one of the most celebrated interview experts inAmerica. Where Did It All Begin?

Friday, November 16th, 2007

By Vlady Peters There used to be a song which went something like this: Anything Russia can do, US can do better, US can do anything better than Russia. No, it cant! Yes, it can! No, it cant! Yes, it can! No, it cant! Yes, it can! Yes, it can! Yes, it can! For the past few years, something similar has been happening about the newest wedding tradition, Handfasting. It appeared amongst us all of a sudden. For a long time we didnt know where it came from, and what to do with it. Little by little weve become creative about what to do with it, but as to where it comes from, thats still being worked out. Almost every continent, it seems, is claiming the origin of this ritual. In literature, we hear of it from Sir Walter Scott, in his novel The Monastry. Most recently, I saw that apart from Africa, America, British Isles and Scandinavia, countries of East Europe are also claiming to have practiced this ritual in the past. Handfasting, in East Europe, like others, started off as a visual engagement, a betrothal to show the world that in due course the couple would be wed. The Hadfasting day started at the brides house where, after all the grooming was finished by the ladies, the groom and his merry men and their families would come to fetch the bride. Before leaving the house, the bride and groom were given their parents blessing, and in their turn thanked them for their lifetime care. As they walked hand in hand to their wedding venue, if it so happened that one of the partners parent or parents were dead, they would make a detour to the cemetery where the parents were buried. Ever aware of the debt of gratitude they owed to their parents, the couple would invite them to join in spirit, if not in body, their forthcoming festivities. Seeing the bridal party going past, neighbors would come outside and shower the happy couple with oats and hops and whatever else happened to be growing in the garden. The Handfasting itself took place in some sort of a grove, since nature is at the center of this tradition. The ceremony was conducted not by any official but by people in some way responsible for bringing the two together. The material used for the tying of the hands was a white piece of cloth, possibly something belonging to the mother, like a shawl. At the end of the ceremony, everyone present would be asked to come up, place their hands over the tied hands of the couple, and give a silent blessing for their future together. The last two to give their blessing were the two celebrants, who then untied the hands. Vlady Peters is an Australian Civil Marriage Celebrant authorized to perform marriage in Australia.
